_____ Associate Contractors Committee: Engaged in enhancing services for subs through communication and education. Produces an annual “Wings -N- Things” with the President. Forms round tables with business owners who specialize in the construction trades.

_____ Land Use & Environmental / Policy: Pro-active and dedicated to increasing awareness of environmental regulations, wetlands and mitigation banking. This subcommittee interacts with regulatory and other agencies to resolve problems that impact the housing industry. Focused on awareness and involved in salient land use issues such as: open space development and perceptions and changes in zoning laws.

_____ Building Codes: Involved in safeguarding the interests of our members and our industry in building codes matters. Also maintain a relationship with the Building Officials Association.

_____ Membership: Responsible for the number of members in our association by planning and organizing sponsor incentives, sponsor and new member recognition, rewards and drives. The Committee also reviews new member applications for recommendation to the Board of Trustees.

_____ Ambassador’s Club: Acts as an information source for new and existing members. Generates enthusiasm and encouragement for new member involvement during their first year. Responsible for maintaining the members presently on the roster by making sure they understand the services and importance of being active. Ambassadors sell 50/50 raffle tickets at most meetings and events, as well as greet and introduce new members to others. Ambassadors call members due in 90 days, to let them know if they pay within 60 days of their due date, they will receive $50 in Builder Bucks, good for events and advertising.

* The Membership Committee and Ambassadors Club share the same goals and work closely together.

Parade of Homes, Single Site and Scattered Site: Produces showcases of our industry in sites selected by the committee. Committee members assist in Parade planning for tents, admission, booth & sponsorship sales, the VIP Party, Industry Day, and volunteer recruitment coordination.

Golf Outings: Solicits hole sponsors & door prizes, coordinates activities at the Outings. The Portage County Golf Outing is held at Kent State. The Summit Golf Outing takes place at Mayfair Country Club. Chairs: Mike Marochino, Louise Sturmi, Board Liaisons Fred Lanagguth, Brian Miller * Susan Ralich

_____ Industry Nite With The Pros: Produces the annual showcase of new products provided by area manufacturer’s dealing with the construction industry. Chairs: Elaine Tuttle * Susan Ralich

_____ Fun(d) Night: Produces a fun night to network with a chance to win big money and prizes. Chair: Lance Schmidt, Board Liaison: Greg Hibbard * Susan Ralich

_____ Home & Flower Show: Annual event at the John S. Knight Center. Show exhibits and features the latest home and garden products and services. Volunteers are needed to help with admissions and greeting.

_____ Sustainability: This is a committee composed of Builders, Trade Contractors, Suppliers and Energy Sales. The Committee is charged with assisting Builders in the building of green homes. They conduct cost benefit studies on new methods and products. They assist all HBA members in running more sustainable operations. They promote sustainable low impact communities and work with local municipal green teams. Chair: Peter Paino * Carmine Torio

_____ Marketing & Sales Council: Fully integrated with the National Sales & Marketing Council. Involved in HBA promotions such as the Merchandising & Marketing Excellence Awards, Lunch & Learn Program series and the Make-A-Wish fundraiser. Various workshops and seminars worth CEU credits. $70 fee Chairs: Pam Keenan, Julie Brandle * Sharon Gillberg

_____ Professional Remodeler’s Council: Focus on bringing business development, education, networking, certification, consumer seminars and other benefits to those either already in or looking to enter the remodeling industry. $85 fee Chair: Rick SirLouis * Susan Ralich
